Adaptive Management
Participation in BASIN is completely voluntary. The alliance operates through non-binding Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) that fully respect the independent jurisdiction, sovereignty, and statutory authority of every member organization.
About the Alliance
Sarah Moody
Wildlife Biologist & BASIN Coordinator
Living in the Tularosa Basin means looking up at mountain pine forests and gazing across white desert dunes on the very same day. As a wildlife biologist, Sarah Moody founded BASIN out of a deep passion for this remarkable landscape. She believes our public lands, our sovereign tribal nation, and local communities are stronger when we stand together. Through the alliance, Sarah works to connect our shared stories and inspire the next generation of land stewards. Her goal is to ensure the mountains, waters, and wildlife of southern New Mexico thrive for generations to come.
